What early users are saying

"Finally — a platform I can trust."

What we do

Trust infrastructure, not just a directory.

Other platforms reward marketing skill. We reward training quality.

✓
Verified credentials
Every trainer's Level 3/4 qualification, insurance, and First Aid is manually checked by our team. No exceptions, no fast-tracks.
★
Verified reviews
Reviewers must prove they actually trained — via session receipt or unique trainer code. AI moderation catches the rest.
⚡
The Trainer Scorecard
A transparent trust profile with ratings, credentials, responsiveness and recency. Embeddable on Instagram, Google, and websites.
⌕
Smart filtering
Search by location, speciality, format (in-person/online), price range, and Scorecard rating. Find the right trainer in minutes.
Budget guide

What should this cost you?

A rough guide — not a quote. Coaching prices vary with experience, setting, and scope, and many coaches price on consultation rather than publicly.

Per week
£110
Per month
£440
Per year
£5,720

A typical mid-tier Manchester trainer, training you twice weekly. See trainers at this rate →

A note on pricing. Many experienced coaches — particularly online coaches — don't publish public rates. It's a common and accepted norm in the industry: packages are scoped to the client, and a short consultation is part of the fit-check. We respect that. On TrainerRep, trainers can either list a public rate or mark pricing as "Available on consultation" — both are treated equally.

Common questions

Things you might be wondering.

If you have a question that's not here, drop us a line.

When is TrainerRep launching?

We're launching in Manchester first, in spring 2026. We're currently onboarding our founding cohort of trainers and refining the platform with early users. Sign up above and we'll let you know the moment we go live in your area.

How is this different from Google Reviews or Bark?

Google Reviews is great for general feedback but doesn't verify trainer credentials or filter by speciality. Bark works on a pay-per-lead model that incentivises volume over quality. TrainerRep is built specifically for personal training, with manual credential checks and verified reviews from people who can prove they actually trained.

Will the platform be free for consumers?

Yes, completely free. Search, compare, and connect with trainers at no cost. We don't take a commission on bookings either — when you contact a trainer, you deal with them directly.

How are trainer credentials verified?

Trainers upload their qualification certificates (Level 3 or 4 CIMSPA/REPS), insurance documents, and First Aid certification. Our team manually reviews each submission and cross-references with the issuing body where possible. Verified trainers get a badge on their profile.

How do you stop fake reviews?

Reviewers must prove they actually trained with the trainer — either by uploading a session receipt, or by entering a unique code generated by the trainer after a session. We use AI moderation as a second layer to flag suspicious patterns, and a human team reviews disputes.

I'm a trainer — do I have to pay?

No. Your basic profile is free, including credential verification, the Verified badge, and your Scorecard. We offer a Pro tier (£15/month) that adds enhanced visibility, priority placement in search, lead tracking, and the ability to respond to reviews publicly. You can switch to Pro any time, or stay on the free tier indefinitely.

Built by people tired of fake fitness reviews.

TrainerRep is a small team in Manchester on a mission: make finding a great personal trainer as easy and trustworthy as booking a doctor.

The problem we're solving. The UK has over 67,000 personal trainers. Most are brilliant. But consumers have no reliable way to tell who's qualified, who's insured, and whose reviews are real. Instagram rewards aesthetics, not outcomes. Lead-gen platforms reward whoever pays the most. Google Reviews can be gamed by anyone with five friends and an opinion.

Why it matters. Unverified trainers injure clients. Fake reviews mislead people already nervous about joining a gym. Good trainers — the ones who spent years earning their Level 4, their insurance, their first-aid tickets — get drowned out by louder, less qualified voices.

What we do differently. Every trainer's qualifications are manually checked against the issuing body. Every review requires proof that the reviewer actually trained with that person. Every profile carries a Trainer Scorecard that shows you credentials, insurance, response time, and review recency at a glance. There's no pay-to-win placement and no per-lead fees. Trainers pay for tools, not visibility.

Where we're going. We're launching in Manchester in Spring 2026 with a founding cohort of around 60 trainers we've personally vetted. Liverpool and Leeds follow in late 2026. Nationwide by 2028. We'd rather be trusted than big.

What we stand for

Three principles we don't bend on.

✓
Verified by default
Every trainer, every review. If we can't verify it, it doesn't go on the platform. Period.
◎
Quality over volume
We'd rather have 60 excellent trainers than 6,000 mediocre ones. Rigorous vetting means you trust what you see.
⚖
Fair to trainers
No per-lead fees. No pay-to-rank auctions. Your Scorecard reflects your work, not your marketing budget.

Small team, big obsession.

Trust is a process, not a badge.

Here's exactly how we verify every trainer and every review on TrainerRep — and what to do if you ever have a concern.

How we verify trainers

Every application goes through a five-step check before a profile goes live. No exceptions, no fast-tracks.

1
Qualification check
Trainer uploads their Level 3 or 4 certificate (CIMSPA, REPS, or recognised equivalent). We verify the awarding body and certificate number against the issuing register. Photocopies and screenshots are cross-checked.
2
Insurance verification
We ask for a current public liability insurance certificate (minimum £2m cover). We confirm the policy number with the insurer, and flag profiles 30 days before expiry so nothing lapses quietly.
3
First aid currency
Trainer must hold a current Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) or equivalent. We record the expiry date and prompt for renewal automatically.
4
Identity + DBS (where relevant)
Every trainer verifies government-issued ID. Trainers working with under-18s or vulnerable adults must also provide an enhanced DBS check. We show the DBS status openly on the Scorecard.
5
Profile review
A real person reads every profile before it goes live. We flag misleading claims, fabricated credentials, or language that promises outcomes we don't think a qualified PT should be promising.

How we verify reviews

A review with the "verified" badge has passed at least one of the following proofs of training.

A
Session receipt
Reviewer uploads proof of payment — bank transfer reference, invoice, or confirmed booking email — showing they paid the trainer in the last 12 months.
B
Trainer-issued code
Trainers can generate a one-time code after a session. The client enters it to unlock review permission. No code, no review.
C
AI + human moderation
All reviews run through an AI layer that flags suspicious patterns (language similarity, IP clustering, timing spikes). Flagged reviews go to a human moderator before publishing.
What we will not do

We will not remove legitimate negative reviews on request. We will not allow trainers to pay to suppress reviews. We will not publish reviews that fail verification.

Safety guidelines for clients

A few things worth knowing before your first session with any trainer — on TrainerRep or elsewhere.

✓
Ask to see the certificate
Every TrainerRep profile shows verified quals, but you're entitled to ask any trainer anywhere to see their Level 3/4 certificate and proof of insurance before your first session.
✓
Disclose medical history
A good trainer will ask about injuries, medications, and pre-existing conditions in a pre-training screening (a PAR-Q). If they don't, that's a red flag.
✓
Start with a consultation, not a session
Ask for a free or low-cost consultation before committing to a block of sessions. It's your chance to check rapport and coaching style.
✓
Clarify cancellation terms
Get cancellation and refund policies in writing before paying for a multi-session block.

Reporting a concern

If you've had a problem with a trainer or a review, we want to hear about it. Every report is reviewed by a human within one working day.

Contact our safety team

Email safety@trainerrep.co.uk or use the Contact page and select "Report a problem or complaint". Serious safeguarding concerns should also be reported to the police on 101 (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency).

We investigate every complaint independently. We may suspend a profile pending investigation where appropriate. We will always respond to the reporter with the outcome, unless doing so would compromise an ongoing investigation.

Get in touch

Press, partnerships, trainer applications, or just a hello — we read every message.
